Then come join us at OUTKnit, the DC Metro area’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and allies knitting group!

We meet every Sunday from 1-4pm at Murky Coffee in Arlington. It’s just 2 blocks from the Clarendon metro station, at the intersection of Washington and Wilson Boulevards. We usually meet upstairs, just look for the girl with the yarn!

Come out and knit with us—our next meeting is today, Sept. 17. Hope to see y’all there!

Seeing as it's kind of chilly today and seeing that I'm learning how to crochet and seeing as I LOVE giving to people I had a really great idea!!!

I thought that come mid october a whole bunch of us could have a huge stitch and bitch to make scarfs, mittens and hats for some homeless shelters in the nova/dc area! I'm posting this in every community I'm a member of that has anything to do with crafts, or DC so leave me some comments and let me know what you think of the idea!

Hey folks, I'm new to the area, living in Ballston and working on North Capitol. Any suggestions for good local knitting shops or friendly stitch n' bitches? Thanks!

i live in the dc metro area. i knit.
i'll go ahead and give a shout out to stitch dc at 1071 wisconsin ave in georgetown. they're friendly and helpful. they even answered my question without selling me anything. just don't get the address wrong like i did, because you'll be walking like way far away from georgetown. and uphill no less.
if this community gains interest, maybe we could set up a monthly knitting circle at a coffee shop or something. that'd be cool.

If you knit, crochet or want to learn how to do so and you live in the DC metro area, this group is for you.

Hello everyone, I'm Nat your friendly mod/knitter. I haven't been knitting for all that long, but that's sort of the point of these things, to learn. I felt that there must be more people who are interested in getting to know other knitters, exchange patterns, discuss places to buy knitting supplies.

Please let others know about this group. Even friends who don't have livejournals. The whole point is discourse and sharing of something you love to do.

Please join the community, introduce yourself.

Knit one, purl two!

Natasha
